Ukraine after Political Deadlock - by Dr. Abdul Ruff Colachal
Upon winning the Ukraine's recent poll and the legal tussle soon after, Viktor Yanukovych, the opposition leader is due to be inaugurated as the country's new president on Feb 25. However, his electoral opponent, Prime Minister, Mrs Yulia Tymoshenko, says Yanukovych won through fraud and refuses to recognize his victory. International observers have said the election was conducted fairly. The electoral officials have now counted all the ballots, and say Yanukovych won by a margin of 3.48%.

Russians for Stability: Regional Polls in Russia
Going by the poll trends in new post-communist Russia for years now, one can safely conclude that most Russians are proud of their “Russian” identity as a former super power and consider Russia's stability as the most important agenda of Russia, in preference to any other aspect of the society. Neither economic inequalities nor rising prices worry them much and all that they seek is a strong Russia.

Obama's Russia Visit
In international affairs relations between the strongest UNSC veto powers USA and Russia occupy the center slot and perhaps rightly so. Both jointly and divided they decide the fate of the world as the resolution of all major crises depend now on the bilateral relations between the two. The former foes pursuing their own interests globally do often oppose each other’s international moves. During the Bushdom the bilateral reality almost crashed.

Russia-Africa Ties: Kremlin proposes Mideast Meet
A continent not known for any extra energy resources, Africa has been ignored by neo-imperialist USA and European states who other wise speak about lack of "democracy" and seek "regime changes" for advancing their resources goal don't bother about democracy and regime issues in Africa. But China and Russia are making diplomatic efforts invest in Africa for profits taking into account the cheap labour and raw materials in the region.
