Docs have placed my grandchildren with a foster family from another gov department.

This woman is saying to other careers that it is my privilege and not my right to see my grandchildren and they are now her children.

They have been with this family for only 2 weeks and they are telling our grandchildren terrible things about us ..

Please help our family.

I am very worried and concerned for our three grandchildren's safety.

They were placed in a permanent foster home on the 7th of February 2009 against the whole families wishes.

We have applied ( myself and my partner ....... )
for kinship careers and are awaiting approval.

We also lodged a review application with the children's services tribunal to have the transition of my grandchildren to this questionable foster family stopped. This application was declined for a hearing date by the president of the commission as we were grandparents not parents.

We have unsupervised contacts with our grandchildren at least once a week but normally 2 - 3 times a week. They also have sleep overs. My partner and I are both in our 40's

DOCS have not told us the truth.

I have been very outspoken with the department as to my grandchildren needing counselling.

I have contacted the team leader, case manage and the manager via phone,email and formal letters from my solicitor but we do not seem to be getting a response.

We are extremely concerned as to the children's physical and emotional safety.

This is a copy below of a complaint I have sent to a Gold Coast Department of Child Safety Service Centre and marked attention .........

13-03-09 Cccccc was very upset on Friday evening.. saying "stay away from me grandma you get me in trouble, I am a bad boy stay away I get into trouble", he was hiding in the wardrobe and under the bed shaking.. I don't understand this as he is a cuddly boy normally who is always close by and follows me around the house on visits.

lllll one of the hhhhhhh workers was here having a cup of tea and is going to write a report up as she was really concerned at what else he was saying.

Earlier in the week( Wednesday 11-03-09 ) on the phone the first thing bbbb said to me was "you are drunk grandma". I said what do you mean, and bbbb said "you always drink beer and you are drunk"
I said I don't ever drink beer and He said yes you do and you are drunk... (he said this in a definite manner which really shocked me)

Then .... the foster lady got on the phone and said don't worry he was just watching someone drunk on TV.. strange???

Then Today (Saturday 14-03-09) bbbbb said you are drunk grandma.. I very rarely have a drink and if I do it is one glass of wine with a meal .. I don't drink beer and defiantly do not get drunk.

Ccccc was also very distant in the early part of our visit.

(Saturday 14-03-09) and said again I'm a bad boy stay away from me grandma..You get me in trouble then ran and hid in the wardrobe.

I have sent this complaint to doc's but as this is now going to be my 4 complaint ..

They probably wont take much notice as we are still waiting for previous concerns to be addressed.

I complained about the foster careers daughter ..... screaming at xxxxx during the week, but they turned this around and said the daughter ..... was yelling at the dog to get out of her bedroom.

This is very strange as it is the daughters ( .... ) dog and it sleeps in her bedroom on her bed at night.

Why did ..... (foster carer) say to xxxxx straight after the daughter screamed; "you have been told to stay out of her room xxxxx haven't you" ?? During the earlier part of this phone conversation with ..... (foster carer) I could hear crying and screaming, when I asked what is happening ..... said the boys are being bathed by my daughter and they are having their hair washed. This is when i heard her daughter screaming at my granddaughter.

.... has been saying to HHHHHHH workers that she feels intimidated by me.. strange as this Saturday was the first time we meet and it is her that keeps telling me she works for the federal government.

We were so concerned that this weekend ..... my partner and I hired a professional nanny to be present when the children were dropped off, picked up and during their visit between 9.30 am and 2.30pm as to safeguarded ourselves as to what could or may be said.

DOCS have told me even if we are approved as kinship careers we may still be turned down to have our grandchildren live with us.

We may then appeal this decision, then if we are successful the new foster family can lodge a appeal to keep the children with them. They will defiantly do this as they have just had 2 of my grandchildren graded high needs..This means a extra $1200 per week for non-family careers..

Please read this and never wait like we have for our daughter to prove herself to DOCS and get her children back..
