I am writing to you in relation to the above mentioned web site.
I am a Manager Casework, with the NSW Department of Community Services.
The Director-General of the NSW Department of Community Services has received a risk of harm report pursuant to section 24 Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 ("The Act"), in relation to some material allegedly posted on your website.
On receipt of a report that a child or young person is suspected of being at risk of harm, pursuant to section 30 of the Act, the Director-General is to make such investigations and assessment as the Director-General considers necessary to determine whether the child or young person is at risk of harm.
As part of this investigation, I seek your assistance in accessing material as part of the Department's assessment. I request that you provide the Department with the following information:
- All web postings previously and currently posted on your site under the user name of "User #1"
- Al web postings previously and currently posted on your site under the user names of "User #2", "User #3", "User #4" and "User #5".
This should include any photographs posted by the above user names.
Furthermore, I seek any further information which may lead to the identification of persons using the above user names.
Any information that you are able to provide, may be referred to me at:

I shall post our reply to the Department's 'request for information' here in due course.
As I am not a solicitor/lawyer I probably should not speculate about anything being 'legally enforceable' or not.

Only a solicitor would probably use 'big words' to suitably obfuscate the possible further 'procedures' or otherwise available to the author of the 'request for information' received.
Anybody can ask anyone for information and at first sight it appears that the 'Manager Casework' in this instance is simply following the procedures laid out in the/their 'book' in response to a 'risk of harm report' received at their office. They've gotta do what they gotta do.
But if any lawyers/solicitors/barristers follow this thread I would certainly welcome their input here or privately to webmaster@altnews.com.au

you should have had enough interaction with the real docs not to be fooled by someone..sending a fax..lol..to obtain sensitive..[confidential info about kids,..ie re anyone..caring for their[the kids]..safty and well being,even your name/location etc is secret info,..as would be your other details
[if only to properly protect the kids..[from vexatious or vile-lent parentals/or other attempting via faxed deceptions to seek info to further their hopes/delusions of wreaking vengance or some other ill intent aimed at achieving info re the location of children or their carers
any legal stuff isnt done by fax..[i feel these faxes need be reported to police,..in the maxim of better safe than sorry..you know govt dont fax..it presents/in person..or sends a real investigator[if only to protect the kids]

The wheels of Justice turn slowly and steadily towards an as yet unseen destination . Every year, the various Australian Governments produce semi-trailer loads of acts, statutes and addenda. The optometrist is working hard on my new prescription.

I feel like I just walked in to a tent at a local fair to talk to someone sitting in front of a small table with a crystal ball in front of them.
Developments at my end of the line:
Rubbish didn't get picked up yesterday, first time that's ever happned.
Bad Omen.
There was a spider in the shower.

A caseworker agreed with something I said.
Scared the bejeesus out of me.
I am going to go walk in traffic, I have had my three for the day.

Around noon today our friendly Postie delivered one of those little red forms to our letterbox advising that a Registered Post item addressed to Alternative News Network was awaiting collection at our local post office.
At the post office the nice young lady, who went to school with my kids, recorded my Driver's Licence number and didn't get the spelling of my name right. But TWO signatures? One on the tiny and slippery glass screen of one of those hand held electronic gadgets and the other on a so called Delivery Receipt addressed to the very same XXXX office from whence the fax originated...
Judging by various advices received from a number of more or less qualified sources, opinions range from; 'very serious' to 'misguided ambition' to, would you believe, 'abuse of power' and even 'malicious intent'...
Be that as it may, my primary interest and concern is for the safety and privacy of the children (if any) and their parents that may be detrimentally affected by any ill considered replies to this, apparently, most unusual 'request for information'.
I can't help thinking that IF the small NSW country area office had any REAL evidence of a potential risk of harm to a child or young person (NSW section 24 of the Care and Protection Act 1998), an officer of the Federal Police would have already knocked on our door to ask the very same question in person.
So, our replies are still some further considerations and ponderings away, but reply we shall. Stay tuned.

I am guessing no other person from numbers 2 - 5 live in the same small country area aye.
My thoughts are mostly leaning towards those paranoid ones you get on windy nights.
For my information I would say charge them for the gathering of it and send it on Webmaster.
On the other hand if you would prefer not to then it is entirely up to you.

I know now after a meeting with DoCS what lies were told about me.
The other users probably haven't had the same opportunity to defend themselves.
It is one thing to voice you truths and certainly another thing for others to twist the truth because of their own mental instability.
DoCS must investigate all allegations, it's their job. May have been the final straw for some. They may have been told to stay offline - we don't know do we?
Mocking them for it is unfair and unjustified.
But I did get to explain to some managers about this user I believe made the allegations and hopefully they took on board the fact that all accusations were false.

their antics show their guilt and knowledge of the atrocities impinged on Australian families.....my my shows they are a very frightened mob of corrupted bigots now doesnt it...would it not be a better thing to come clean..... after all there are web pages out there where they are all being named and shamed......and about time too. Amazing too it is most certainly serial behaviour in all government departments......
