A Technical Question: My Old Picture Keeps Popping Up

But I have a technical question; I deleted my picture and wanted to upload another one but each time I try the same one keeps popping up.

Oh Jewely, I wish you would stay ON TOPIC. Now I have to move another comment (to the right forum).

But in answer to your question I suspect you may be getting the 'same one popping up' because it is actually coming from your web browser's CACHE.

Do you still see the old picture NOW? Because nobody else is (seeing it) as you have apparently deleted the old picture successfully.

A new profile image is saved by our system with the same name as the old picture, something like http://forums.altnews.com.au/sites/default/files/pictures/picture-96.jpg where 96 is your numeric user id.

Now I suspect that you may be using the Microsoft IE web browser. This browser is notorious for failing to reload pages and images when it should instead loading the image from the cache on your computer.

My suggestion is that you upload the new picture into your profile and then, when 'the old one pops up' press CTRL and F5 (Function key F5). Alternatively, clear the cache on your computer by going to Internet Options and deleting 'stored files' .

Let us know how you go...

Maybe you should consider installing a proper and safer browser like Firefox from http://www.mozilla.com/

Okay I did have to go look up what cache meant.

I will do better. Thank you!
