WWW and E-mail fraud scams come in many guises. Some of the most common scams include:
  • Mule spam - the criminals contact the prospective victims with job vacancy adverts.
  • Lottery spam - the scammer will tell you that you’ve won something substantial (such as a large sum of money or a great prize) and that all you have to do is send them money to claim.
  • phishing spam - Phishing emails are sent from fake email addresses, often claiming to be from a bank, online retailer or credit card company.
  • Nigerian scams - These scams offer to pay the recipient a considerable sum of money to assist in the transfer of millions of dollars out of a foreign country.

Spam (unsolicited commercial e-mail or UCE) sent by businesses based in Australia. Under the Spam Act 2003 it is illegal to send, or cause to be sent, unsolicited commercial electronic messages. The Act covers email, instant messaging, SMS and MMS (text and image-based mobile phone messaging) of a commercial nature. It does not cover faxes, internet pop-ups or voice telemarketing.

Post information here about suspicious IP addresses not only used by harvesters and spammers but especially those IP addresses used by government and the legal profession you have identified as suspicious or found to have malicious intent. We will attempt to confirm all listed IP addresses in a reasonable time frame and we may remove or mark IP addresses over which there exists some doubt as to their intent.
