My wife and I am currently facing all the dramas associated with DOCS WA. We have just had 2 of our 4 children removed to "temporary" foster care. This was due to a single incident that occurred after us trying to seek help through DOCS for our 2 troubled children for over 12 months. DOCS repeatedly refused to help us or even point us in the right direction for counselling.

Now, 1 of the kids has cried abuse because they did'nt get their own way and BAM - DOCS takes 2 kids (13 & 7 yr old)and are now trying to get our 2yr old off of us. This happened last week.

When we were served with court papers (3 hours after the first hearing mind you) I looked up the Children & Community Services Act 2004 (the regulations DOCS must follow). There have been several breaches of the act by DOCS which we will try to fight them on in court, aside from the fact that we are not "abusive parents with an unsafe home environment" as already branded by DOCS.

I urge everyone to read The Act as I personally am horrified about the absolute power of DOCS and distinct lack of accountability. I asked a DOCS officer if interviews with children were videod or taped - NO. If Police have to do it, why not DOCS?

The first part of The Act states that DOCS primary roles are as follows:

1. to promote the wellbeing of children, other individuals,families and communities;
2. to acknowledge the primary role of parents, families and communities in safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children
3. to encourage and support parents, families and communities in carrying out that role
4. to provide for the protection and care of children in circumstances where their parents have not given, or are unlikely or unable to give, that protection and care;
5. to protect children from exploitation in employment.

Already in our case they have not complied with points (1), (2) & (3). If they cannot even operate within the regulations set out for them, they may as well not have any regulations and be a law unto themselves (which they practically are anyway).

Unfortunately we cannot attend the rally in Sydney, but if one comes up in Perth we will be there. Good luck to all who are fighting these bastards and let us hope & pray the Government will see common sense & reason (that statement is almost a joke but I will still be hoping) and DCP gets not only much needed reform & accountability, but a CCC or Royal Commission enquiry into their corrupt ways.

These bastards deserve to be made as miserable as the thousands of families they have destroyed.
