The motion to endorse the list of demands was carried with five against, they felt the list was too long. It was explained that the list addressed the new transport reforms and the rest was 'housekeeping' which did not place unrealistic expectations on the Government. Leo Fardell was elected as the delegate for NSW and will be part of the shutdown process when we meet with Government to put our case. A suggestion was made that we involve the public by having a sausage sizzle in major centres to inform people how to prepare for the shutdown and gain their support. We all need to be aware that there are other groups promoting their own agenda and whilst we are trying to achieve different outcomes it is important not to get them confused with what we are doing. I will not support any action that is confrontational or disruptive, this shutdown was always to be 'minimum impact with maximum effect' that is minimum impact on the public maximum effect on the Government. The next meeting will be at Bendigo on the 6th of July at the RSL starting at 10am. The followed Meeting is at Wyong on the 13th of July (see notices on the site) This website was provided by Clemens Vermeulen at very short notice and I thank Clemens for his support. Also thanks to all those people who are helping in the background, a big thanks to Tony and Terrie Bradley for their help at the door of the three meetings they have now attended, and a big thanks to Mark and Sheridan Steinohrt for their help in Toowoomba, and thanks Peter Haylock in Emerald for getting that meeting off the ground at short notice without this support I would struggle to pull this off. Keep checking the website for updates, and keep spreading the word. I will report again soon. Drive Safely Mick Pattel " . "2008-07-01T10:18:17Z"^^http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#dateTime .
