SNOIL

Please take a look at this and if you agree could you give me a hand?

SUNDAY NO OIL/SNOIL

It’s time to fight back, time to stop the exploitive and predatory practices of the oil companies and their investment bank cronies. This winter due to the price of heating oil, many of us will be making an obscene choice, heat or eat!

The whole world has been held hostage by greedy, oil rich countries, and their partners the big oil companies. This year these businesses have made more profits than any other companies or industry in all of history. And all of it at our expense!
OPEC and the big oil companies think that we are helpless as they arrogantly continue to pick our pockets. They’re right about one thing; the price of oil is determined by supply and demand.

When we don’t consume oil it is immediately reflected in the price of oil, the price goes down. So let’s all take a few days off from driving and reduce that demand.

Starting on Sunday, August 17 let’s just stay home, walk, ride our bikes, canoe, whatever, but don’t get in your vehicles. Not using your car for a day in the summer is easier than not turning on your heat in the winter, so we need to start now. You can stock up on your milk, bread, beer and newspapers on Saturday, but on Sunday, none of us ride in our cars. That includes trucks and boats too.

It would be great to get everyone in a whole town to participate, but wouldn’t be awesome to have a whole state, a country, the whole globe, stay home on Sundays? Yes we can people, we can do this. Just send this email to 10 people and have them send it to 10 more. Make sure that newspapers and web sites get a copy, send it to politicians, clergy, businesses, activists, students seniors, everyone. If you have friends abroad make sure that they get a copy. It’s important that this movement goes international. Write letters to the editor and put up posters. Organize! Then sit down with your family, friends and neighbors and plan and prepare for SNOIL. (Sunday No Oil.) Make a real dent in our oil consumption. And the price of oil and gas will go down! Supply and demand controls the market remember? If we’re serious and committed we can stop these predators from destroying our economy and impoverishing us.

What you can do:

(1) Utilize whatever networks that you and your friends have and send this email everywhere.

(2) Translate this email into whatever language you can and send it.

(3) Make You-Tube videos about SNOIL and post them. Post on Facebook.

(4) Post locally on Craigslist under “activities’ politics, groups, or events.”

(5) Write letters to the editor for your local paper explaining SNOIL.

(6) Look for our website “SNOILNOW.com”

(7) Start a blog or post on an existing blog

(8) Send contributions to SNOIL PO Box 62 Warren Me. 04864 We’ll use it to run print and media ads and pay the cost of this movement.

(9) Contact me; Hugh Magbie, at: hmag...@tds.net or call 207 273 3609 if you need more information.

GREEDY RICH OIL BARONS

G'day,
Yes great idea to get the ball rolling and save more than oil but pollution etc.
I really think it's the stock marketeers the greedy rich that are maniuplating oil prices by buying and selling oil futures that relate directly to whatever the USA president Say's in threatening words to third world countries like IRAN etc.
So if the yanks just keep out of other peoples HOMES oil would be stable.. you know? YANKEE GO HOME.

Of course that applies to the sleazy gut crawling countries that kow tow to the usa's disgusting activities like AUSTRALIA!..
get out of other peoples homes and stay out.

Cheers Neil

Shutdown News

We can only imagine the work that you are putting into trying to get a better deal for us all. One wonders why you would bother given the lack of support from some areas. It is depressing to see trucks still moving. They seem to forget that we are all missing out on work and money while we "stand down". I don't suppose that these people will forgo any improvments that you achieve for our industry!! I know you are really busy, I wonder though if there could be more postings of information on the forum. We do get some "texts", but because of the lack of coverage from media, we are a little in the dark as to what is going on day to day. You have our continued support and appreication for what must seem to you at times to be a thankless task. Keep up the fight Mick, Thankyou.
