Update No 5 24th July 2008
The ALDODA group is still up to its old tricks and it is evident that they will go to great lengths to shamelessly hi-jack any event for their own agenda without any regard for what is in the best interest of the industry.
It is painfully obvious that they are only interested in their own importance; the blatant and callous disregard for the process that I have been pursuing will see this industry lose an opportunity to head off reforms that would have given some hope to everyone.
Lyn Bennetts and Peter Schuback are opportunist of the worst kind and feed off the success of others, they will fail in their crusade as no Government can meet the demands they are seeking, their militant and confrontationist style of action will cause widespread condemnation and a very harsh police reaction, and I encourage the authorities to administer the full weight of the law in this regard.
Hughie Williams warned me they would do this and he said I wouldn’t beat them, well let’s see about that.
It is my intention to fly to Brisbane over the shutdown period and the delegates will be there as well, We will promote the shutdown as we had intended it to be, peaceful and respectful of the community, we will condemn any action to create mayhem or blockades as that was never part of my plan.
It never over until it’s over, the fight goes on.
It is interesting to see an article on the Agmates website http://www.agmates.com/blog/2008/07/23/truckers-unions-ready-to-fight-gr... Click on the link, it is well written and reflects the true picture, and I congratulate them on it.
Until next time

Very good article http://www.agmates.com/blog/2008/07/23/truckers-unions-ready-to-fight-gr... - says it like it is.
This morning Scott Driscoll from the retailers association on Toowoomba ABC radio called truckies ' industrial terrorists '. Well one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. We have gone too far down the track of big bother government/ big business bureaucratic control it has to stop - we have no say and our wishes are completely ignored.
Hughie Williams said on radio the problem is being caused by radical employers who want their workers to work harder and risk their and other peoples' lives - isn't it amazing how the truth can be twisted - he has no idea.
There is a push back all aroung the world by rural people against big government corporate contol killing rural people and businesses.
On Dateline last night "The Other Side Of Boom" http://news.sbs.com.au/dateline//the_other_side_of_boom_552344 shows rural communties in India fighting back against the government who use the police against the people.
ARUNDHATI ROY: Basically you have one India which has now seceded into outer space and has joined the elite of the world and is looking down at the old India and thinking, "Why are these tribals living on our bauxite and why is our water in their rivers and why is our furniture in their forests and how do we get them off the land?" And this is what the government wants - it wants 85% of the population to move into cities where it can be easily policed, where it can be easily controlled.
